As several people have pointed out, Moonglade (EU) is a Roleplaying server. I'm not a heavy RPer, and The Elders is not an RP guild, but we do have an RP section on our forum. I do stay in character in /s and /1, and, depending on who I'm with, in /p as well. I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce Nalik to you.
Headstrong and stubborn, Nalik Runetotem struggles to achieve the serenity and calm of his druidic brethren. Called by the Earthmother at an early age, Nalik lacks the composure so typical of the rest of his clan. A bright and friendly youngster, Nalik can occasionally reveal his lack of age and experience by getting very excited by new sights and sounds, and sometimes asking the simplest of questions.
Growing up in a traditional Tauren clan setting, Nalik feels a strong affinity to nature, greatly enhanced by his training as a druid. This does, however, mean that he is often unable to control his anger when he witnesses something he views as an abomination - only a strong sense of honour and duty allows him to adventure alongside the Forsaken. This feeling of righteous anger grows whenever Nalik encounters the works of the Burning Legion – he can be single-minded in his determination to rid Azeroth and Outland of their presence.
Despite this determined streak, Nalik still loves to dance and enjoys adventuring in the company of good friends, as long as he feels he is doing the will of the Earthmother.
I actually started RPing without a clear sense of character, but I felt Nalik's identity grow as I adventured more. I'm not convinced that the description does him justice, and I know that the style is a little awkward, but I'm working on it. The idea I'm trying to capture is that he's quite dedicated and serious, but in a way that only the young can be - almost overzealous - and when he relaxes he's just a fun person who wants to help make everything better. My problem is I'm a Mathematician by training!
(Constructive) criticism welcomed - how can I make this less stilted and awkward? Also, does anyone have a fun idea that they use to RP?

Replace "Earth Mother" with "Light" and you have a Scarlet Crusader resumé ;).
It's a little hard to write RP descriptions - although my RP flag ones for Laran and Kaeron are quite a lot shorter than that, they are of course not their biographies. Just go with what you're thinking, edit afterwards.
I didn't really start off with an RP idea... I got dragged into "bad company"; Laran ended up tagging along to Mulgore with a young, pretty blood elf girl, and duelling with a troll warrior (and he so nearly won) before learning to his confusion(and my lack of surprise) that nearly everyone he'd just met was at least half demon.
And now he's got the demon bug, although through no fault of his own. Unless you count being a complete and utter twit as soon as a pretty girl turns up as a fault...
I'm newish to this WoW RP thing, as I had one failed warlock on Thorium Brotherhood (I think that was the server) and a newly created Troll hunter, level 12 at the moment, and about to venture into Alliance territory to find himself a ghostly saber.
As with Kaeron, I didn't start out with anything except "A troll raised by Tauren". It's hardly a character in writing, but he'll grow as I play him and develop himself, really. As for a backstory, it usually comes to me on the spot, when it comes up in character.
As for Nalik, you have a simple but solid backstory that conveys his pride, honor, and willingess to have fun. I think it's fine.
I tend to start out with an idea (eg. "I do not want to ride a bloody hawkstrider so I'll do all the Orc quests from 1st level so I can get a wolf") and then find answers to questions that are raised by that idea (eg. what happened to force this fellow to leave his homeland with absolutely nothing and travel halfway across the world to a foreign land to train as a Hunter?) from there the story sort of wrote itself ... though I've never written it down anywhere.
I don't tend to do a great deal of roleplaying exposition but I know how the characters work and hopefully that comes through in the ways that I play them.
In terms of how one would write a character resume, I'm really not sure that there's any better way of doing it. Possibly one tack might be to write a piece in first person where Nalik describes himself to someone. Though using that method would inevitably miss out on some detail, nevertheless I think it might inject the warmth that you're looking for ... more of an introduction than a CV if you see what I mean?
